For sale is this charming pair of antique ornate frames. I would estimate they were made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. I think the base metal is iron or a similar dense alloy. These have been copper plated and then gilded (I think) to create a rich antique effect. I bought them recently at a flea market with the two photographs inside and these 19th century photos show just how decorative these two frames are! Each frame measures about 28 centimeters tall by about 22 centimeters wide at the widest points. The photographs measure about 14 cms by 10.4 cms wide at the widest points. Both frames have an easel and so can be free-standing or can be hung on the wall. Both are in good condition with no breaks or loss. One of the frames has a modern screw in the easel arm. Otherwise some wear to the gilding from polishing over time and minor scratching and wear throughout. Great interior decorator items!
